We’re looking for an entry-level Content Writer to join our remote team. You’ll develop high-quality written content across multiple platforms and formats, working with editors, subject-matter experts, and team members to create engaging stories and materials.
In this role, you’ll report to your manager and work as part of a communications team. You’ll receive writing assignments based on organizational priorities and collaborate across departments to report, write, edit, and produce content for websites, newsletters, digital publications, email communications, and other channels.
Your main focus will be on translating complex, technical, or specialized information into clear, engaging content for general audiences. You’ll conduct interviews, develop stories, and ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and properly edited before publication. You’ll also provide editing and production support across the organization, helping maintain consistent standards for accuracy, clarity, style, and brand alignment.
What You’ll Be Doing
– Research, interview sources, and develop story ideas based on editorial priorities- Write clear, engaging content for multiple audiences and formats- Edit and proofread your own work and support others’ content- Collaborate with team members, editors, and experts to refine and finalize content- Ensure accuracy, fact-checking, and adherence to style standards- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining quality- Work with digital publishing platforms and content management systems- Receive feedback and revise work based on editorial direction
Skills/background needed: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to interview people and gather information. Experience writing for different audiences and formats. Ability to take feedback and revise your work. Familiarity with AP style or similar editorial standards. Experience translating technical or academic information into clear language for non-expert readers is a plus. Experience with content management systems, email platforms, or digital publishing tools is helpful but not required. Experience writing in higher education, science, or research environments is a bonus.
