About this role:
We’re looking for a versatile content writer and strategist who understands how search engine optimization works—not just someone who writes well, but someone who knows how pages earn rankings and drive results. You’ll work with clients across different industries, adapting your voice and writing style each week. One week you might write for one type of business, the next for another. You’ll produce content like homepages, service pages, and blog posts, and also help shape the strategy behind what gets created.
This is ongoing freelance work with steady volume and room to grow as our client base expands. We’re looking for a long-term collaborator.
What you’ll do:
• Write SEO-optimized web pages: homepages, service pages, and location pages
• Write both short-form and long-form content — concise, conversion-focused pages and in-depth pieces like blog posts and guides
• Turn a content brief (target keyword, audience, key points) into natural-sounding copy
• Structure content with proper heading hierarchy and SEO fundamentals
• Adapt your voice to each client and industry
• Help develop content strategy — map topic clusters, plan content calendars, and identify content gaps
• Recommend what to create and why, based on search intent and business goals
• Interview clients to gather source material and pull out their expertise and authentic voice
• Research unfamiliar industries quickly and write about them with authority
• Write locally-relevant content without using templated approaches
• Draft meta titles, meta descriptions, and FAQ sections
• Revise based on feedback and meet deadlines consistently
Skills and background needed:
• 3+ years in content writing, including experience developing content strategy
• Proven ability to plan what content to create, not just write from instructions
• Understanding of local SEO: keyword intent, service and location page strategy, internal linking, heading structure
• Comfort using AI writing tools like ChatGPT or Claude to brainstorm and self-check, while applying your own judgment and fact-checking
• Ability to write convincingly for different industries and pick up new ones quickly
• Strong writing for both short-form and long-form content
• Clear, jargon-free writing with excellent grammar and self-editing skills
• Reliable communicator who works well from a brief and meets deadlines
• Comfortable interviewing clients over calls or video chats
• Strong keyword and topic research skills
• Experience working across multiple industries is a plus
• Familiarity with structured data concepts is a plus
What we provide:
• Flexible remote work structure
• Steady, ongoing project volume
• Opportunity to grow as the client base expands
• Clear project briefs and keyword targets to work from
• Collaborative team environment
Contract length: Ongoing freelance
Hours: Approximately 10–20 hours per week to start
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Location: Fully remote
Start date: Immediate
How to apply:
Submit your resume, a brief cover letter explaining your content writing experience, and 2–3 writing samples. Writing samples should ideally be web pages you’ve created, and it’s a bonus if they show your range across different industries or writing styles.
