About the role
We’re looking for a Proposal Writer to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position with flexible working hours, perfect for someone starting their career in technical writing and proposal development.
You’ll be responsible for developing, writing, and editing clear, well-structured proposal content. You’ll work with subject matter experts to turn technical information into compelling, compliant submissions that win business.
Key responsibilities:
• Review and analyze solicitation documents to identify requirements and evaluation criteria
• Research, draft, edit, and format proposals, reports, and related content
• Conduct interviews with internal experts to develop accurate and persuasive content
• Write and revise proposal sections including executive summaries, technical sections, and management plans
• Maintain organized tracking of proposal documents and versions using spreadsheets and other tools
• Design and update charts, tables, and graphics for proposals
• Prepare final submissions in required formats (PDF and other digital formats)
• Edit technical materials prepared by colleagues for clarity and consistency
• Develop and improve proposal templates and workflows
• Support post-submission tasks such as amendments and clarifications
• Attend strategy meetings to understand key messaging and translate it into clear, persuasive content
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, OR at least 2 years of proposal writing experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex documents
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues and subject matter experts
• Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
• Familiarity with document formatting and basic graphics tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to pass a background check and maintain confidentiality as a condition of employment
Desirable:
• Formal proposal writing certification or training
• Familiarity with government procurement processes
