Roles: As a Multimedia Journalist, you’ll handle the full range of newsroom duties, including developing story ideas, shooting and editing video, going live on air, and posting content to digital and social platforms. You’ll meet daily broadcast deadlines while creating fresh web content, respond to breaking news, and adapt to the changing news landscape.
What you’ll do:
- Develop story ideas and pitch them to editors
- Shoot and edit video content for broadcast and digital
- Go live on air with breaking news
- Post original, timely content to web and social media platforms
- Meet tight daily deadlines while maintaining quality
- Respond urgently to developing news situations
- Work flexible hours to cover the news as it happens
Skills/background needed:
- A degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Experience with video editing software is a plus, but not required
- Full training and support provided for entry-level journalists
Contract length: Full-time, ongoing position
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application. Overtime available when approved. Annual pay reviews included.
Expected hours: Minimum 40 hours per week
Location: Local positions available. On-site, in-person role.
