We’re looking for an entry-level Multimedia Journalist to produce, report, write, shoot, edit and deliver news content across all platforms in a way that is clear, engaging and meaningful to audiences.
What you’ll be doing:
• Report news stories for broadcast and digital platforms, explaining the background and context of events
• Arrange and conduct interviews with sources who can provide information about stories
• Write, review and edit content for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style consistency
• Research and analyze background information to provide complete and accurate reporting
• Gather information through research, interviews and attendance at relevant events
• Pitch story ideas to editors that are relevant to audiences
• Evaluate leads and tips to develop potential stories
• Shoot and edit news events and reports
• Produce and present reports across multiple platforms including web and social media
• Interact with audiences on social media
• Meet all editorial standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
• Handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Perform additional tasks as needed
Skills/background needed:
• Fluency in English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working with computers and standard office equipment
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Willingness to learn – full training provided for entry-level candidates
