We are seeking a detail-oriented Copy Editor to join our publishing team. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about editorial work who wants to develop their skills in a supportive environment while contributing to quality content across multiple publications.
Responsibilities:
– Edit and proofread content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency
– Ensure adherence to publication style guides and maintain consistency in tone and voice
– Collaborate with writers, designers, and other team members to refine and enhance content quality
– Fact-check information to ensure accuracy and credibility
– Assist in shaping editorial direction and strategy
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
– Provide feedback and suggestions to writers to improve their work
– Help develop and maintain a strong brand voice across all platforms
– Conduct research to support content creation efforts
– Assist in the creation of marketing and promotional materials
Skills/background needed:
– Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
– Attention to detail and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies
– Familiarity with style guides (AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style, or similar)
– Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills
– Creative thinking and willingness to contribute ideas
– Experience in publishing, magazine, or book editing is helpful but not required
– Prior editing samples welcome but not essential – we provide full training
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
