Role: We are looking for a beginner-friendly Newsroom Editor to help shape daily coverage, edit stories, and support a small team of writers. This is a fully remote role with full training provided, so no prior newsroom experience is required.
What you will do:
Edit stories for clarity, accuracy, and tone. Write and improve headlines. Help plan daily and weekly coverage. Work with writers to strengthen their reporting. Use audience data to guide coverage choices. Support video and photo storytelling.
Skills/background needed:
Comfortable with grammar and style basics. Good news judgment and a willingness to learn. Interest in digital storytelling and headline writing. Basic comfort with content management systems and social media. Open to coaching and feedback. A degree in journalism, communications, or a related area is helpful but not required.
Contract length: Full time, with flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends.
