Roles: Social Media Content Creator
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Part-time, 15–20 hours per week. Initial paid trial period included.
Location: Remote – work from anywhere.
Skills/background needed: No formal experience required. We’re looking for someone with authentic social media instincts, not a polished marketing background.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone who genuinely understands short-form video content and internet culture. This isn’t about scheduling posts or making branded graphics. It’s about understanding what people actually want to watch and why certain videos stop the scroll.
You’ll work part-time from home, helping to create authentic, personality-driven social media content. Full training will be provided – we’ll teach you everything you need to know about our product, audience, and content strategy. If you understand why a natural, relatable video can connect better than a polished corporate ad, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
1. Find and Research Content Ideas
Spend time on the platforms where your audience spends time – social media apps, community forums, comment sections. Look for trending topics, interesting stories, questions people keep asking, and video formats that are working. Your job is to understand what’s working and why, so we can create content that resonates.
2. Turn Ideas Into Video Concepts
Each week you’ll help develop short-form video concepts by creating hooks, short scripts, story ideas, captions, and reference videos. You won’t need to edit videos yourself – we have someone who handles that. Your focus is on the creative idea: what should we make, what’s the hook, what’s the story, and why would someone actually watch it?
3. Keep Content Moving Forward
You’ll help track content from idea through to posting. Knowing what’s being created, what’s in progress, what’s ready, and what’s been published will be part of staying organized and keeping momentum going.
4. Find Creators to Collaborate With
You’ll research and reach out to creators whose audiences match who we’re trying to reach. You don’t need huge influencers – sometimes a smaller creator with a highly engaged audience is much more valuable. You’ll maintain a list of good candidates and help coordinate collaborations.
5. Learn What Actually Works
You’ll pay attention to which content gets views, clicks, and real engagement. You’ll help spot patterns in what works and what doesn’t, so we can do more of what succeeds and quickly change what isn’t working.
A Typical Week
Your weeks will include tasks like:
• Researching trending topics and content ideas across social platforms
• Developing 10+ strong content hooks or ideas
• Creating 5–10 scripts or video concepts
• Finding reference videos for the video creator
• Tracking videos through the production process
• Reaching out to and following up with potential creator partners
• Reading comments and audience feedback for new ideas
• Testing new content or growth strategies
• Sharing a quick update on what worked, what didn’t, and what to try next
You’ll have one weekly video call with the team lead to discuss what worked, review new ideas, and plan what to test next. It’s a working conversation – no corporate presentations needed.
You Might Be Perfect for This If…
• You actually use short-form video platforms and understand internet culture
• You can tell when content feels too much like an advertisement
• You naturally notice why certain videos work better than others
• You understand storytelling and can write the way real people actually talk
• You’re curious and willing to test new ideas and strategies
• You can take an idea and run with it without needing every single step explained
• You’re comfortable with AI tools like ChatGPT and others
• You’re a student, recent graduate, freelancer, creator, or just starting your career and ready to learn
This Probably Isn’t the Right Fit If…
• Your experience is mainly in creating branded graphics or promotional materials
• You don’t personally use short-form video platforms
• You need every assignment explained step-by-step
• You think every brand video needs to look like a polished advertisement
• You struggle to take an idea and develop it independently
What We Provide
• Full training on the role, products, and audience
• Flexible remote work schedule
• Paid trial period to ensure the role is a good fit
• Supportive team environment
• Opportunity to grow your skills in social media and content strategy
How to Apply
In your application, please share:
1. 2–3 examples of authentic short-form content you’ve created. These can be talking-head videos, storytelling, creator-style content, or personality-driven shorts. Tell us exactly what you did for each one. We’d prefer not to see mostly graphic design or branded templates.
2. One great short-form video you found (not necessarily your own). Tell us in a few sentences why it works and what you noticed about it.
3. 3 social media hooks or captions you would create for a specific scenario we’ll provide. Write them the way someone would naturally say them on video.
4. Your thoughts on video metrics. We’ll ask which is more valuable: a video with lots of views or one with fewer views but higher engagement. Tell us why.
5. How you would find creators to collaborate with. Walk us through your research process.
6. Your experience with AI tools. What tools do you currently use and what do you use them for?
7. Your comfort level reaching out to creators. Tell us about any experience you have with outreach via direct messages, email, or follow-up.
What Happens Next
We’ll review all applications and invite promising candidates for an interview. The strongest candidates will then receive a paid test assignment similar to the actual work you’d be doing. If you’re the right fit, you’ll start with a paid trial period.
