We’re looking for a Web Content Writer to join our digital team. In this role, you’ll create, edit, and publish high-quality content across our web properties and digital channels. You’ll work closely with our editorial and design teams, and contribute to web projects including content strategy and site improvements.
The ideal candidate is a skilled writer with a strong eye for clarity and accuracy. You’ll understand how content structure, language, and layout influence the way people read and navigate online. You’ll be equally comfortable writing a compelling program description or a short, punchy call to action.
Roles: You’ll spend about half your time creating and publishing content — writing program pages, landing pages, campaign content, and short-form copy like captions, summaries, and video descriptions. You’ll adapt content across different formats while keeping a consistent voice. About 25% of your time will focus on strategy and collaboration — working with team members to turn complex information into clear digital content, applying search engine optimisation principles, and collaborating with designers. The remaining 25% involves editing and reviewing content for clarity, accuracy, tone, and consistency, plus using analytics to improve performance.
Skills/background needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, digital media, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in web writing or content development
- Demonstrated range as a writer — from longer articles to short digital copy
- Working knowledge of search engine optimisation principles including metadata and content structure
- Understanding of user-centered content and how people navigate digital spaces
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards and plain language writing
- Experience with a content management system, or willingness to learn
- Basic HTML knowledge is a plus
- Comfort with AI writing tools and editorial judgment to use them responsibly
- Proficiency with Canva or similar web image tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience in higher education is preferred but not required
Contract length: Ongoing full-time position
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Location: This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week on-site at the workplace, with flexibility to work remotely for the remaining days.
To apply, please include a cover letter along with writing samples or a portfolio link that demonstrates your range across different formats and audiences.
