Minimum qualifications:
Associate degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing; or a mix of education and experience demonstrating strong competency. One to two years of professional writing experience, ideally in web content. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities. Ability to write for multiple audiences and platforms. Familiarity with SEO and digital content strategy. Experience with content management systems. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Desired qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Three or more years of professional writing experience, particularly for websites. Experience working in a communications office. Familiarity with AP style and editorial best practices. Knowledge of digital accessibility standards.
About the role:
Under general supervision, you will create compelling, strategic web content as part of a content management system migration project. Working as part of a marketing communications team, you will shape the voice and narrative of the organization through content that supports enrollment, retention, advancement, and community engagement. You will collaborate with departments to translate complex information into accessible, engaging narratives, ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and accessibility standards, and maintain consistency across platforms for diverse audiences.
This is primarily an on-site role, though some flexibility may be available based on business needs. Work is performed in an office environment with standard interruptions and background noise. The role is sedentary and will occasionally require lifting up to 25 pounds.
