Technical Writer – Government Communications Work From Home

About the Role

We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our team creating clear, accurate written materials for government clients. You’ll work on policy documents, regulatory materials, training manuals, and communications that help make complex information accessible to the public. This is a fully remote position with flexible work arrangements.

What You’ll Do

• Write and edit policy documents, briefing materials, memos, and regulatory materials for clarity and consistency

• Review documents to identify inconsistencies and work with other writers to resolve them

• Develop summaries and briefings for management highlighting key issues and risks

• Analyse public feedback and comments, summarising recommendations and identifying priority issues

• Create training manuals, reports, tutorials, and data sheets for various clients

• Turn technical information into clear marketing and communications materials for specific audiences

• Coordinate multiple projects to meet deadlines while maintaining quality

• Proofread and edit materials to ensure accuracy and adherence to style guidelines

• Support communications teams in planning presentations and webinars as needed

Skills/Background Needed

• Bachelor’s degree required

• 5 years of professional writing, editing, or communications experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability

• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities

• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Business Tools

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take direction

• Experience with government communications, regulatory writing, or policy work is a plus
