Technical Writer – Entry Level

An exciting opportunity exists to utilize your writing, editing and proofreading skills on a full range of technical documents.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Interview production and engineering personnel to understand processes and technologies
• Research journals and technical materials to become familiar with product technologies and production methods
• Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedures and detail
• Assist in laying out material for publication
• Analyze developments in specific fields to determine if revisions to existing materials are needed or if new content should be created
• Use established outlines and source materials to finalize documents, ensuring reports flow correctly with raw data and results
• Take raw copies of documents, format them, and organize them for clarity and consistency
• Communicate edited changes to engineers and managers
• Work collaboratively with other writers and editors as part of a team

Reports you’ll work on may include newsletters, client reports, technical papers, speeches, presentations and business documents.

Skills/background needed: A background in business writing, journalism or science is helpful but not required. Some experience working with technical documents is desirable. Most importantly, you should be a self-starter with curiosity, flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
