Role: Technical Writer
About the role:
We’re looking for an entry-level Technical Writer to create clear, accurate instructional documentation. You’ll research, write, and produce operator manuals, installation guides, and setup instructions that help users understand and operate products effectively. This is a fully remote position perfect for someone starting their writing career.
What you’ll do:
• Create instructional documentation including operations manuals, service instructions, and parts manuals
• Translate technical requirements into clear, easy-to-follow instructions
• Work with graphics and text to create consistent, reusable content
• Collaborate with team leads and subject matter experts to review and refine documentation
• Manage multiple projects and meet production deadlines
• Apply metadata to graphics for easy searching and reuse
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, service, and marketing teams
Skills/background needed:
• No prior experience required – we provide full training
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail
• Ability to understand and explain technical concepts clearly
• Comfortable learning new software tools (we’ll teach you)
• Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams is helpful but not essential
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• A background in technical communications, English, or related field is helpful but not required
Nice-to-have experience:
• Any experience with XML or database publishing
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, or similar design tools
• Knowledge of CAD software or technical illustration
• Experience reading mechanical or assembly drawings
