Role: Technical Writer
Job Summary:
You’ll write, edit, and create technical documentation including proposals, process guides, user manuals, technical reports, and procedural materials. You’ll research information, work closely with subject matter experts, verify content with reviewers, and help coordinate the production and distribution of materials. You’ll typically be embedded with project teams, supporting the documentation of key initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
• Consult with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to establish requirements and determine what content needs to be created
• Design new technical documentation based on existing standards, or develop new standards where needed
• Interview production and engineering staff and review technical materials to understand product technologies and processes
• Observe production and experimental activities to document operating procedures and technical details
• Study drawings, specifications, and product samples to understand and document technology and production sequences
• Select and incorporate photographs, diagrams, charts, and illustrations to support your writing
• Organize research and complete writing assignments according to established standards for clarity, accuracy, style, and terminology
• Coordinate the production and distribution of finished materials
• Review published materials and recommend revisions to format, content, and distribution methods
• Edit and standardize materials prepared by other writers or staff members
• Manage document access and communications to ensure end users can effectively use final materials
• Organize and maintain project folders and file structures
• Keep detailed records of work, revisions, and version history
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Complete additional tasks and duties as assigned
Skills/Background Needed:
• Associate’s Degree in any field, OR equivalent advanced technical training
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in technical writing or editing
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to research and learn about new technologies and processes
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and subject matter experts
• Comfortable using standard office and documentation tools
• Organised approach to managing multiple projects and files
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new documentation standards and processes

Work Environment:
Office and computer-based work. You’ll spend extended periods using a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Occasional light lifting (under 40 lbs). General office conditions with standard heating, cooling, and lighting.
Contract Length: Permanent, Full Time
