Role: Technical Writer/Editor
Contract length: Full time
Location: Remote with occasional on-site visits

The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Technical Writer/Editor to develop and refine your writing and editing skills. You’ll work with roughly written content on unfamiliar subjects and transform it into clear, polished material.
In this role, you will:
• Reorganize unstructured content to flow logically, using consistent terminology to improve readability
• Correct spelling, grammar, syntax, and voice issues
• Reformat content to follow consistent layouts with headers, bullet points, and numbered lists
• Rewrite text to be direct and clear, written at a high school reading level
• Identify knowledge gaps, logic errors, or missing steps and flag them for review
• Create basic graphic and text layouts following style guides and approved templates
• Produce a variety of materials including manuals, training content, technical reports, presentations, and standard operating procedures
• Gather information from stakeholders and subject matter experts through interviews and research
• Manage file organization, version control, and documentation updates
• Communicate progress regularly and participate in review meetings
• Deliver high-quality work on deadline
Skills/background needed:
Essential:
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely
• Experience gathering project requirements and interviewing stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of assignments
• Customer service orientation with the ability to engage respectfully at all levels
Desirable:
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign
• Background in iterative documentation processes
• Technical writing certification or training
• Any experience with maintenance documentation or technical fields
