We’re looking for a Technical Writer/Editor to join our team and help create clear, accurate documentation for technical systems and processes. You’ll work with engineers, system administrators, and subject matter experts to develop high-quality technical materials that support operational readiness and organizational success.
This is a fully remote position perfect for someone eager to build a career in technical writing. No prior experience with specific enterprise systems is required—we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
What You’ll Do:
Develop, edit, format, and maintain technical documents including reports, manuals, procedures, and presentations
Review technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established standards
Collaborate with engineers, administrators, and technical experts to gather information and document processes
Create and maintain operational documentation including procedures, system guides, workflow diagrams, and equipment records
Develop network diagrams, technical reference materials, and supporting system documentation
Participate in meetings and briefings; prepare meeting minutes and action item summaries
Review vendor and open-source documentation to validate technical content
Develop document templates, style guides, and standardized formats to improve consistency
Maintain document repositories and support version control processes
Coordinate document reviews and approval workflows with team members
Support process improvement initiatives by identifying ways to enhance documentation quality and usability
Skills/background needed:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent professional writing experience)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and team collaboration tools
Excellent attention to detail, grammar, spelling, and editing
Ability to manage multiple documents and priorities simultaneously
Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong organizational skills
Nice to have:
Experience creating network diagrams, technical illustrations, or process flow diagrams
Experience with document management systems or collaborative workflow tools
Familiarity with enterprise IT, network, or infrastructure environments
Experience developing presentations and governance documentation
Adobe Acrobat Professional experience or related professional certifications
Contract length: Full-time, ongoing
