Social Media & Content Coordinator – Remote Entry Level

Roles: Social media management, content creation, newsletter editing, event promotion, database management, and community outreach support.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length: Ongoing, 10–20 hours per week.

Location: Fully remote with occasional in-person attendance at community events (flexibility discussed during onboarding).

About the role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic entry-level content and social media coordinator to support our community-focused communications team. You’ll help create, edit, and share stories that matter to our community—including managing our newsletter, social media accounts, event information, and building relationships with local contacts.

No prior professional experience is necessary. Full training will be provided, and you’ll work alongside supportive colleagues who are committed to helping you grow.

What you’ll do

• Research, write, and edit community stories and features

• Create and manage social media content on Facebook and Instagram

• Edit and publish our newsletter and event announcements

• Maintain and update our contact database

• Help coordinate marketing and community events

• Conduct interviews (via video call or in person)

• Proofread and fact-check written materials

• Attend community events, fairs, and conferences as needed

• Build and maintain a network of community contacts

• Learn and apply best practices in communications and ethical writing standards

Skills/background needed:

• Strong writing and editing skills

• Comfortable with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)

• Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools (training provided)

• Excellent attention to detail

• Self-directed and able to manage tasks independently

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Reliable internet connection for remote work

• Willingness to learn and take feedback

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is valued but not required

• Current student status or recent graduate preferred
