Role Summary
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Assistant to help build and grow our online community over a 3-month period. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing social media accounts, engaging with audiences, and developing content strategy skills. There’s strong potential for this role to transition into a longer-term position based on your performance and how well you fit with the team.
This volunteer position offers valuable practical experience in a supportive environment. You’ll work approximately 5 hours per week from home, on a flexible schedule that works around your other commitments.
What You’ll Do
• Schedule and publish content consistently across Instagram and TikTok, including stories and feed posts
• Monitor comments, messages, and mentions, and engage with the community in a genuine and timely way
• Help brainstorm and suggest new content ideas that align with current trends
• Track basic performance metrics like engagement and follower growth, and share insights when requested
• Stay informed about social media trends, especially short-form video content, and suggest relevant opportunities
Skills/Background Needed
• Basic experience with Instagram and TikTok (personal or professional use is fine)
• Understanding of how these platforms work, including trends and posting strategies
• Organized and reliable, with the ability to post on schedule
• Good communication skills and genuine interest in connecting with online communities
• Enthusiasm for social media growth and community building
Nice to Have
• Experience using social media scheduling tools
• Familiarity with basic analytics and performance tracking
