About the Role
We are looking for a Performance Creative Strategist & Video Producer to develop paid social media advertisements from initial research and concept development through scripting, filming, editing, and performance-driven testing.
Your primary objective is to create direct-response ads that generate leads and drive measurable results. Creative decisions should be guided by customer insights and performance data—not aesthetics alone.
You will work closely with the marketing team, review creative performance regularly, identify what is and is not working, and use those insights to develop the next generation of ads.
What You’ll Own
Creative Strategy & Research
Develop a deep understanding of the target audience and their pain points, objections, and motivations. Research competitor advertising and other sources for new hooks, angles, and concepts. Analyze existing winning and losing creatives to identify repeatable patterns. Build and maintain a library of winning hooks, angles, formats, and messaging.
Direct-Response Creative Production
Develop multiple new ad concepts weekly, with variations in hooks, angles, or calls-to-action. Write compelling hooks designed to capture attention within the first few seconds. Write complete 30–60 second direct-response video scripts and accompanying shot lists. Personally appear in video-style advertisements, including talking-head videos, walk-and-talk formats, demonstrations, and problem/solution advertisements. Edit and assemble short-form creatives for platforms including Facebook, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Turn successful concepts into multiple variations rather than constantly starting from scratch.
Performance & Optimization
Review creative performance regularly and use that information to determine what should be produced next. Analyze key metrics such as view rates, click-through rates, and cost per lead. Identify winning and losing hooks, angles, formats, and messaging. Develop iterations based on performance rather than producing disconnected creative ideas. Maintain organized creative documentation so performance patterns can be identified over time.
What Success Looks Like
A consistent weekly pipeline of new creative concepts and variations. New creatives that regularly outperform existing benchmarks. Clear documentation of winning hooks, angles, and formats. Increasing reuse and iteration of proven concepts. Meaningful insights during creative performance reviews.
Skills/background needed: Experience creating direct-response paid social media advertisements. Demonstrable experience producing creatives specifically designed for paid acquisition. Strong on-camera presence and confidence delivering video-style advertisements. Portfolio demonstrating multiple direct-response video advertisements. Ability to interpret advertising data and translate findings into new creative decisions. Strong copywriting and storytelling skills for short-form advertising. Ability to independently research an audience and develop compelling hooks, angles, and scripts. Understanding of Facebook advertising creative and performance metrics.
Preferred experience: Experience in lead generation, service-based businesses, or B2B advertising. Experience with TikTok or YouTube Shorts advertising.
Who We’re Looking For
You care about whether an advertisement performs—not simply whether it looks good. Once you understand the offer, target audience, and performance data, you can independently research and develop the next batch of creative tests. You understand that paid social performance requires consistent testing and iteration. You are comfortable producing multiple concepts and variations every week. You continuously look for new customer pain points, objections, and motivations that can become compelling advertising angles.
