Medical Writer – Health Literacy Remote Entry Level

We’re seeking a Medical Writer to join our team and help create clear, accurate, and compliant clinical and public-facing documents. You’ll work with project leads to develop materials that support clinical research and ensure information is presented in a way that’s easy to understand for all audiences.

About the Role:

In this position, you will:

• Learn and apply medical writing best practices, including clear communication and health literacy principles in document design, planning, and review
• Develop clinical, regulatory, and public-facing documents such as plain language summaries, informed consent forms, and study materials
• Work as part of cross-functional teams, collaborating with colleagues and external partners to plan, author, and refine documents through approval
• Identify solutions to challenges in your work—whether related to content, processes, or timelines—and keep leadership informed
• Build knowledge of clinical research, regulations, and relevant disease areas as you develop in the role
• Learn to use medical writing tools and technology platforms with guidance from your team
• Contribute to initiatives that improve writing processes and standards across the organization

Skills/background needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related, scientific, or relevant discipline (such as life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or public health)
• At least 2 years of relevant industry experience
• Understanding of clinical research, clinical trial design, and basic statistics
• Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically about data and information
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse colleagues and partners
• Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite and file sharing systems, plus willingness to learn new tools
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams

Preferred skills:

• Experience writing plain language materials for patients or the public, such as informed consents or plain language summaries
• Understanding of health literacy principles and how to translate scientific content into accessible language
• Awareness of diverse audience needs and cultural sensitivity in communication
