Roles: We are looking for a junior editorial writer to join a fully remote editorial team. You will help shape and share opinion content while making sure reader concerns reach the right people.
What you’ll do: Write and pitch timely editorials each week. Build sources to support original reporting. Take part in editorial meetings with community and business leaders. Monitor reader concerns sent by email and letters, and route urgent issues to the right editor. Prepare a short monthly summary of key reader concerns for leadership.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required – full training is provided. You should be able to write quickly and accurately, have good news judgment, juggle several tasks at once, and work well with others. Familiarity with digital media and headline writing helps. A bachelor’s degree is expected; some writing experience is a plus but not essential.
Contract length: Full time, ongoing.
