We’re looking for an entry-level Audiobook Publisher to join our growing audio publishing team. An ideal candidate will be an adaptable contributor with strong integrity and self-awareness. Publishing is a people-driven industry, and we pride ourselves on building strong working relationships.
Key responsibilities:
• Identify and evaluate prospective titles for the catalogue
• Negotiate with independent authors, publishers, and literary agents to acquire audio rights and clear necessary permissions
• Monitor live titles’ performance and feedback
• Collaborate with the production team to guide audiobook scripting, adaptation, and casting
• Maintain an active relationship as the primary contact from first contact through production and post-release
Skills/background needed:
• Passion for literature, especially non-fiction
• Self-starter with the ability to identify key areas for meaningful contribution
• Strong research and analysis skills – ability to assess project viability and track down rightsholders
• Independent and creative problem-solver
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized with strong time management skills
• Good instinct for audio content that can be continually developed
• Ability to make sound judgement calls when prioritizing tasks
Preferred qualifications:
• Publishing, research, or dramatic arts experience
• Niche expertise or interests in specific subject areas
