About the role:
We’re looking for a freelance writer to create engaging sports content for a global audience. You’ll write short, punchy articles (300-400 words) covering trending stories across multiple sports—football, rugby, tennis, snooker, and more. This is high-volume, fast-paced work ideal if you’re building writing experience or looking for flexible supplemental income.
What you’ll do:
Write 20+ articles per week on breaking sports news and viral moments. Source story ideas from press conferences, podcasts, and social media. Craft compelling headlines and angles that stand out. Apply basic search engine optimisation practices to help your work reach readers. Publish directly into our content management system. Occasionally support live coverage coordination.
What we’re looking for:
No prior experience necessary—just enthusiasm for sports and the ability to write clearly and quickly. You should be comfortable identifying unique angles on major stories and writing engaging, concise copy. We’re after snappy news coverage, not opinion pieces, long features, or match reports.
Work format:
Fully remote, freelance contract. Work from home at your own pace. Commitment of at least 20 articles per week for a minimum of three months. Pay is performance-based and tied to article traffic.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Location: Remote work worldwide (English speaking preferred)
