Roles: Writing and editing articles for an online publication, including research and interviews when needed.
As an entry-level writer, you will create a few written pieces each month after clear instructions from an editorial team. You will revise your work through several rounds of feedback, apply notes carefully, and respond promptly. When asked, you will conduct research or interviews for your pieces. You will also join writer workshops when scheduled, follow journalistic standards, and get familiar with standard news writing style. You will meet regularly with your section editor to discuss your work.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required. Full training is provided. You should be comfortable taking feedback, meeting deadlines, and writing clearly. A non-creative writing sample of about 2 to 3 pages is welcome with your application, such as something written for a class.
Contract length: Ongoing part-time assignments with flexible hours.
