Roles: We are looking for a curious, versatile writer to join our news team as an entry-level reporter. This is a beginner-friendly role with full training provided, so no prior newsroom experience is required.
What you’ll do: Cover community stories, local government and schools with a curious eye. Gather information, interview people, and write clear, engaging stories. Take photos and short videos to support your work. Share your stories across print and digital formats. Work closely with a supportive team of writers and editors.
Skills/background needed: Good with words and comfortable writing in plain English. Good with a camera or willing to learn basic photo and video skills. Good with people and happy to talk to a wide range of community members. A genuine curiosity about the world and a desire to tell stories. No degree or previous reporting experience needed – we provide full training.
Work format: Fully remote. Work from home or anywhere, with flexible scheduling. You will gather stories in your community and share them with the team online.
Rate: Competitive entry-level rate, details shared upon application.
