Roles: We are looking for a beginner-friendly Creative Writing Instructor to support learners in nonfiction writing and Latinx/e literature. This is a fully remote, work-from-home role with full training provided.
Rate: Competitive entry-level rate, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, ongoing academic-year position with a projected start date in the future.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required. A Ph.D. in Creative Writing, English, or a related field is expected, and a specialization in nonfiction creative writing and Latinx/e literature. If you are still finishing your degree, it must be completed before the start date. Any university teaching experience is a plus but not essential. Secondary interests in related areas such as migration studies, border studies, hybrid forms, or a second genre are welcome. A commitment to student-centered, inclusive teaching and the ability to work with diverse groups is helpful.
Responsibilities: Teach and mentor students remotely, balance teaching with research and creative activity, advise students, and take part in department and university service. A reduced teaching load is provided in the first two years to help new instructors settle in.
