About the Role:
We are looking for an Editorial Assistant to support the management of academic publications. You will work with editors, authors, and reviewers to coordinate the peer review and publication process. This is a fully remote position perfect for someone starting their career in publishing or academic writing.
What You’ll Do:
• Coordinate peer review and publication workflows, including communicating with authors, reviewers, and editors
• Manage editorial documents throughout editing, copy editing, proofing, and publication stages, maintaining accurate version control
• Act as a primary contact for authors, editors, reviewers, and external partners, responding to inquiries and coordinating communications
• Maintain detailed publication records, including submission and contact data; prepare reports as needed
• Support edited volumes by coordinating timelines, managing images and permissions, and overseeing copy edits and proofs
• Create social media content and promotional materials for publications, including blog posts and announcements
Skills/Background Needed:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Detail-oriented, organized, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort coordinating with multiple stakeholders
• Experience with manuscript tracking systems is a plus, but not required
• No prior publishing experience necessary—we provide full training
Contract Length: Full-time permanent position
