We’re looking for a detail-oriented writer and editor to join our team as an editorial assistant focused on obituaries and medical content. This is a part-time remote role – a great opportunity to build experience in health journalism and editorial work from home.
What you’ll do:
Write, edit, and help commission obituaries for online and print publication. You’ll develop contacts to identify story leads, communicate with families to gather information, and maintain editorial pages. You’ll work with our editorial team to meet publication deadlines across digital and print formats.
What we’re looking for:
Writing experience (any format – blog, news, social media, or similar) is helpful but not required. You should have an interest in health, medicine, or medical journalism. Strong communication skills and the ability to work sensitively with sources are important. Familiarity with copyright and media law is a plus but we’ll provide training.
