Join a collaborative publishing team as an Editorial Assistant. You’ll provide administrative and editorial support to senior editors while contributing to the successful development and publication of books. No prior experience required — full training will be provided during your onboarding period.
What You’ll Do
You will support all phases of the editorial process, including coordinating peer review, managing manuscripts and artwork, preparing documentation, maintaining editorial databases, and handling administrative responsibilities that support publishing operations.
Specific responsibilities include:
Support editors with manuscript coordination and peer review processes
Prepare fact sheets, design briefs, and solicit author questionnaires
Coordinate deadlines and monitor project progress with authors, translators, and illustrators
Track design elements and troubleshoot technical issues in manuscripts
Prepare manuscripts for handoff to copyediting using internal guidelines
Draft correspondence as needed
Maintain digital book files and track seasonal publishing lists
Process departmental forms, manage travel arrangements, and assist with administrative tasks
Support the wider team on publishing operations as needed
Skills/background needed: Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong writing ability, excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Experience with publishing, academic journals, or related fields is a bonus, but not required. You should be diplomatic, professional, and comfortable working independently.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, permanent position
Hours: 35 hours per week
Work format: Hybrid. Some duties can be performed from home; the final work schedule and location will be confirmed during the interview process and based on operational needs.
