Join a dynamic newsroom as a Copy Editor working fully remote. You’ll play a key role in ensuring news content is accurate, clear, and ready for publication. This is an entry-level position with full training provided—no prior newsroom experience required.
What you’ll do:
Proofread and edit news copy for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and spelling. Ensure all content follows established style guidelines. Fact-check information and verify sources before publication. Collaborate with writers, producers, and team members to refine stories. Identify and correct inconsistencies, errors, or discrepancies. Assist with research for breaking news. Check for potential legal issues. Work with graphics and video teams to ensure visual elements support the story. Meet tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
Skills/background needed:
Strong command of English grammar and spelling. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work quickly under deadline pressure. Willingness to learn newsroom standards and style guidelines. Basic familiarity with current events helpful but not essential. No prior experience required—we provide full training.
