About the role:
We’re looking for a Content Writer to join our team. You’ll craft compelling stories that translate complex scientific and technical information into clear, engaging narratives for diverse audiences. This is a fully remote position with flexibility and the opportunity to grow your writing portfolio across multiple formats and platforms.
No prior experience required. We provide full training and support as you develop your skills in research communication and storytelling.
What you’ll do:
Collaboration and Story Development (30%)
• Work with the team to plan content calendars and align messaging with communication goals
• Conduct interviews with researchers, experts, and stakeholders to develop story ideas
• Repurpose and adapt key stories across multiple channels and formats
Writing and Content Production (70%)
• Research and synthesize technical data into clear, accessible narratives
• Draft, edit, and optimise content for digital platforms, social media, video scripts, podcasts, print publications, and email newsletters
• Create high-quality copy tailored to different audiences and formats
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
• Ability to simplify complex information for general audiences
• Experience or willingness to learn social media content creation
• Flexibility to write in different styles and formats (from technical reports to short social posts)
• Comfortable working collaboratively with a team
• Basic familiarity with digital platforms and content management systems
Preferred:
• Background in science writing, environmental reporting, or technical communication
• Portfolio of published writing samples
• Experience with content planning or editorial calendars
Contract length: Temporary/Project-based
Location: Fully remote – work from home
