Join our editorial team as a Content Writer and play a key role in producing compelling stories that inform, educate, and engage readers. You’ll work closely with editors to craft narratives across a wide range of topics and develop content that resonates with our audience.
Duties:
Research and write articles, features, and stories across diverse topics including cultural events, current developments, and community issues
Identify and pitch story ideas that align with editorial standards. Conduct interviews with key figures and community sources to develop accurate, engaging information
Work with the editorial team to ensure all content meets quality standards and deadlines. Assist with editing and proofreading
Contribute to digital content creation for the website, social media channels, and newsletters
Ensure all content is accurate, respectful, and culturally sensitive
Support overall team operations with additional tasks as assigned
Skills/background needed:
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Research and interviewing abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital media tools
Knowledge of journalistic ethics and AP style
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Attention to accuracy and detail
Passion for storytelling and respect for diverse cultures and communities
Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable mindset
Valid driver’s license required
What we’re looking for:
Associate’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Full training will be provided to help you succeed in this role.
