We are looking for someone who genuinely loves books and wants to build a career in book production. This hands-on, entry-level role supports the complete journey of bringing manuscripts to life—editing, design, typesetting, and print preparation. You will learn by observing closely, asking thoughtful questions, completing real work, and gradually taking on greater responsibility. No prior book-production experience is required; curiosity, care, and the ability to learn are what matter most.
What you will do:
Learn and document the complete workflow for moving a book from manuscript to print. Assist with organizing manuscripts, images, project files, and production records. Support editing, proofreading, formatting, and layout work under guidance. Review book interiors and covers for errors, inconsistencies, and layout issues. Prepare and check files against quality standards. Maintain careful notes and complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines. Communicate progress and questions early, taking on more independent work as your skills develop.
What you will learn:
Practical exposure to editing, design, typesetting, proofreading, print specifications, and quality control. You will learn to evaluate book design, manage revisions and deadlines, and gradually handle more substantial parts of book projects.
Skills/background needed:
Strong written English, attention to detail, reliability, and organizational skills. You watch and listen attentively, take good notes, ask thoughtful questions, and are comfortable receiving feedback and revising your work. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe InDesign or Photoshop is helpful but not required. Previous experience is not necessary.
This is a fully remote role. As your skills develop, there may be opportunities to expand the scope of the position.
