Role: Support healthcare organisations by reviewing denied insurance claims and creating appeal letters to help reverse claim denials on behalf of hospital clients. You’ll work closely with nurses and team members to develop strategies and manage appeals through to resolution.
What you’ll do:
Review denied insurance claims and patients’ medical files to understand why claims were rejected
Develop strategies to reverse claim denials and create written appeals in support of reversals
Manage and organize appeal workflow, tracking progress against internal and insurance-driven deadlines
Handle patient protected health information securely and in full compliance with privacy regulations
Collaborate with nurses and other team members to gather information and build strong appeals
Skills/background needed:
A 4-year degree or equivalent professional work experience required
An active professional license as a Physician’s Assistant, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Practical Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or equivalent professional credential
Strong reading comprehension and ability to understand and analyse medical information and terminology
Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with sound judgment
Ability to learn new software quickly and work comfortably with technology
High integrity, dependability, and a results-oriented mindset
Working conditions:
