Role: Junior Instructional Writer
Turn engineering drawings into clear, easy-to-follow assembly instructions. This fully remote, entry-level role is a great fit for beginners who like detail and want to learn on the job.
What you’ll do:
Write step-by-step assembly and installation guides from engineering drawings and product details. Create supporting images, diagrams, and photos. Check parts lists against official parts lists. Work with engineers to confirm steps and fix discrepancies. Keep documents updated as designs change. Gather feedback from installers to improve instructions. Proofread your own work for accuracy before review.
Skills/background needed:
No prior experience required — full training provided. Comfortable writing clear, simple instructions and editing images. Able to read engineering drawings and compare parts lists. Strong attention to detail, spelling, and grammar. Familiar with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, or willing to learn. Basic 3D design software knowledge is a plus. A degree in English, communications, design, or a related field helps, but equivalent practical experience is welcome.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full time, with opportunities for growth.
Location: Remote work worldwide (United States preferred)
