Roles: Breaking news writer
We are looking for a beginner-friendly writer to join our fully remote digital news desk. In this work-from-home role, you will write accurate breaking news stories quickly and clearly, and help keep readers up to date as stories develop. Full training is provided, so no prior newsroom experience is needed.
What you will do:
Cover breaking news and turn events into clear, accurate stories.
Work to tight deadlines and stay calm under pressure.
Follow current events and write for a general news audience.
Use basic online tools to research, draft, and publish.
Skills/background needed:
A clear, accurate writing style and a genuine interest in the news.
Good grasp of current events and ability to work quickly.
Comfort using everyday tools such as Google Docs and Google Sheets.
Willingness to learn; full training is provided.
Rate: Competitive entry-level rate, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Flexible, with opportunities for ongoing work.
