We’re looking for an experienced Managing Editor to help shape editorial direction across our digital and print platforms. You’ll oversee a team covering government, politics, and policy, setting the vision for content strategy and ensuring high-quality journalism across multiple channels.
What you’ll do:
Manage and mentor a team of editors and reporters focused on legislative, executive, and judicial branches, plus political campaigns. Coordinate content strategy across websites, newsletters, and publications. Provide regular feedback and coaching to direct reports. Write and edit copy as needed, including columns and newsletters. Help moderate discussions and podcasts.
What we’re looking for:
Strong background in newsroom editing with experience covering policy and politics at the federal level. You’ll have at least 3 years in management roles and a solid understanding of journalism across digital and print formats. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. We value problem-solvers who can adapt quickly and collaborate across teams.
