We’re looking for an entry-level content editor to join our remote news publishing team. You’ll manage our homepage, coordinate content across platforms, and help ensure our editorial standards are met every day.
What you’ll do:
Update and manage the homepage with top stories throughout the day. Assign and oversee writing, editing, and video work from team members. Write and edit articles using standard news style guidelines. Monitor breaking news and coordinate alerts across email and app platforms. Use website analytics to guide content placement decisions. Brainstorm story ideas and identify trending topics to cover. Work with reporters and the social media team to distribute content. Edit and post video content as needed. Maintain high attention to detail with grammar, punctuation, and fact-checking.
What we’re looking for:
Experience writing or editing for a news organisation (print or digital). Familiarity with AP style and news writing. Ability to work under pressure in fast-moving environments. Basic proficiency with WordPress and standard editing software. Understanding of social media and how news reaches audiences. Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask. Team player with leadership potential. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as the role requires.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
