We are looking for a beginner-friendly Trending Writer to join a fast-paced digital newsroom focused on timely, high-interest content. This is a great fit for someone with strong news sense who can spot trending stories and write clean, engaging articles. Full training is provided and no prior experience is required.
Roles:
– Identify trending topics for a broad consumer audience
– Pitch timely story ideas based on news cycles and audience interest
– Write original articles on quick turnarounds
– Conduct basic reporting, including source interviews and fact-checking
– Write clear, engaging articles of roughly 500 to 1,000 words
– Collaborate with editors and publish content using a content management system
– Follow editorial standards and style guidelines
– Join required editorial meetings
Skills/background needed:
– Willingness to learn and a genuine interest in writing and reporting
– Comfort working to deadlines
– Basic curiosity across topics like entertainment, health, finance, and lifestyle
– Good writing, editing, and headline skills
