Staff Writer
We are looking for a curious and versatile Staff Writer to join our editorial team. This is a fully remote, entry-level role with full training provided – no prior experience necessary. If you enjoy finding stories and sharing them with readers, this could be a great fit.
Roles:
Write news stories, profiles and features for print and digital audiences. Pitch original story ideas and work with editors on assigned stories. Conduct interviews by phone and video. Build relationships with community contacts and stay alert to emerging stories. Contribute to social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Upload and format stories for the website. Proofread editorial materials before publication.
Skills/background needed:
No prior experience required – full training provided. A willingness to learn reporting, writing and proofreading basics. Curiosity, organization and the ability to manage multiple assignments. Comfort working independently and in a team. An interest in current affairs is a plus.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full time, ongoing.
